ChangeScape, Inc. was started in 1995 by Mindy Richards, a former hospital CEO and healthcare system executive. The firm has grown to include other professional staff and work within three significant industry verticals: Healthcare policy; Healthcare Strategic Consulting and Healthcare Business Solutions. Additionally, the firm provides business planning and financing alternatives for nascent firms in healthcare.
Healthcare Business Solutions
The Healthcare Business Solutions group has existed since the firm's inception. ChangeScape provides a cadre of business solutions to positively affect the financial productivity of nonprofit healthcare systems. The solutions include process optimization and enhancement, technology, and infrastructure based companies among others. With assistance from ChangeScape, these companies are able to advance their value proposition within the C-level of targeted nonprofit healthcare systems and hospitals. This shortens the sale cycle and results in earlier contract development and closure. ChangeScape can also develop the solution provider's go to market business strategy and provide advice and counsel regarding written materials. In some instances, ChangeScape works within a specific solution provider's engagement when it proves synergistic to do so. Some of the solution providers have a footprint in healthcare; others do not. In that case, ChangeScape helps to establish the "transference" story for the firm seeking to establish a vertical within healthcare industry.
Healthcare Strategic Consulting
ChangeScape works directly with healthcare CEOs toward enhanced business strategy, investigation and completion of merger activity, and other high level transformation activities. In some cases, ChangeScape has several of the independent hospitals under direct contract to achieve economies of scale; in other situations, ChangeScape works to bridge build between independent hospitals and healthcare systems. And lastly, ChangeScape works within geographic regions of influence for national healthcare systems when their Michigan based locations require assistance.
Healthcare Policy
ChangeScape began a healthcare policy initiative approximately three years ago in conjunction with an engagement provided through the office of the CEO of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce. The initiative was a brainchild of ChangeScape's and brought together over 30 leaders in nonprofit healthcare and business leadership. The group considered transformational activities as presented by several national healthcare CEOs. Resultantly, ChangeScape was then asked to assist with the Mackinac Conference and healthcare activity presented during the symposium. Most recently, ChangeScape has worked with the Management Briefings in Ann Arbor to craft and organize healthcare sessions during the August meetings. Today, ChangeScape continues to be involved with many high level strategic policy discussions around such topics as employer/healthcare leadership collaboration and interoperability of health information.
